PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The Alcorn State University women's basketball program forced 29 turnovers and held the Lady Panthers to just 53 points on its way to a 57-53 road win.
The Lady Braves (7-12, 7-8 SWAC) got most of its points from the usual suspects of
Kirdis Clark and
Cayla Obillo while
Deja Mitchell was the top rebounder.
Clark was Coach Kilbert's top scorer, netting 18 points for her seventh consecutive game with 14-plus points and 14th contest this season with a double-figure point total.

For Obillo, this was the lucky number seven for her as well, dropping ten points for the seventh time in 2020-21 to go along with a team-best three steals and three assists.

Deja Mitchell tripled up the next closest player on the club in rebounds, corralling nine boards and topping the team in minutes with 35.

Prairie View A&M (3-12, 2-11 SWAC) received a career outing from Kennedi Heard, posting a stat line of 23 points, six rebounds and four steals.

Another Kennedy (Paul) had double-digit points as well, contributing 13 points, eight boards, a game-high five assists and three steals.

Tiffany Tullis was the only game participant with ten-plus rebounds, bringing in 12 and registering eight points as well.
Alcorn awaits its seeding for the upcoming SWAC Tournament and all games will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

- Alcorn rose to 60-26 against PVAMU, a winning percentage of .698 over 86 all-time matchups.
- Neither team shot particularly well from three as Alcorn went 5-for-20 (25.0%) while Prairie View was 3-of-17 (17.6%).
- The Lady Braves had a plus-ten turnover margin (19-29) and the Lady Panthers were dominant on the glass (47-24).
