Pata & Dini Pick Up Wins Versus Nicholls

LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University tennis program saw Lucas Dini win both a doubles match with Stojan Stojanovski and a singles match while David Pata picked up a victory in singles play as well.

The Braves (2-5, 1-0 SWAC) as a team fell to the Colonels by a score of 5-2, winning two singles matches and missing out on the doubles match by three sets.

After dropping the first doubles match, Dini and Stojanovski delivered to keep the point alive with an overwhelming 6-1 victory over Omar Morsy and Ricardo De Sales Chaves Machado.

During singles play, Dini completed his perfect day by defeating Morsy one-on-one by a count of 6-0 and 6-1.

Pata had a more difficult time putting away Piyush Surendra Salekar, taking it the distance before staving him off (0-6, 6-4, 6-1).

The Lady Braves (2-8, 1-1 SWAC) kept both doubles matches competitive while each singles player had at least one point in each set.

The doubles teams of Tangia Riley-Codrington/Kimberley Kaome and Mikaela Konstantinova/Aizat Zholdakyeva were in the match the whole way, fighting and clawing before giving way by scores of 7-5 and 6-4, respectively.
