LORMAN, Miss. – Braves Baseball will play a Purple and Gold Fall World Series at Willie E. "Rat" McGowan Stadium beginning Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. Admission to each of the games is free.
Â
Under the direction of second-year head coach
Reggie Williams, Alcorn will take part in an intrasquad, best-of-three series that will span across three days, regardless of if the outcome is decided in two games. Each game will be seven innings in length and features the first true recruiting class for Williams and his staff.
Â
Khalil Smith and Garrett Paladino will lead the Gold Team against
Diego Lopez-Molina and
Tyler Daniels of the Purple Team.
Â
The three-day event is the culmination of the fall season for the Braves as they continue to prepare for the upcoming 2023 campaign that will feature a total of 29 home games at Willie E. "Rat" McGowan Stadium on the campus of Alcorn State University.
Â
First pitch for the 2023 season is Friday, Feb. 17, when Alcorn welcomes fellow Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) member Alabama A&M to Lorman, Mississippi for a three-game nonconference series against the Bulldogs.
