PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Alcorn State opens the road portion of its Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule on Friday evening, traveling to Prairie View A&M searching for its first win of the season. The baseball series is set to kick off Friday at 3 p.m. CT with a 2 p.m. game on Saturday, then conclude Sunday at 1 p.m. at Tankersley Field. The games will be broadcast live on the PVAMU athletic website.
Alcorn enters the weekend at 0-14 on the year and 0-3 in SWAC, having played Texas Southern and Jackson State in its last six contests. Prairie View is 7-13 overall and 1-2 in the league, picking up one game in the three-game series versus Grambling the previous weekend.
George Osborne III leads the Braves offensive charge, slotting in at a .355 batting average, recording 11 hits and two RBIs this season.
Benjamin Ybarra heads the Prairie View offense. He holds a .359 batting average with 23 hits and seven runs.
