LORMAN, Miss. – The Men's and Women's tennis teams host Mississippi College in the regular season conclusion on Thursday, April 14, at the Alcorn State Tennis Complex. The Braves and Lady Braves will also honor their seniors playing in their last home match at Alcorn. The first serve is at 2 p.m.
Men's tennis enters 4-12 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Alcorn pair David Pata and Lucas Dini lead the Braves in the doubles contest with a 6-4 record. Luka Andonov leads the Braves in singles competitions. The Skopje, Macedonia native holds a 4-6 record and is currently on a three-game winning streak.
Women's tennis is 6-15 overall and 5-4 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Andrea Quiroz leads the Braves in singles play with a 6-5 record and a four-game winning streak. Stefany Grlj and Jaime Edwards dominate the doubles contest with a 7-5 record.
The Choctaw men's team is 3-11 overall and 2-6 in the Gulf South Conference. Carlos Trujillo leads MC with a 5-7 record in singles competition, while he and Matias Ballatore head the doubles contest also with a 5-7 record.
MC women's team is 11-6 overall and 4-5 in league play. Emma Roberts carries the team with a 13-2 showing in the singles contests, while Anna Didkovska and Anna Valiaeva head the doubles effort with an 11-4 record.
Along with the two matches, the Braves will honor their senior student-athletes playing in their final home contest. Kareem Bowe, Santiago Rocca, David Pata, Stefany Grlj, and Kimberley Kaome will all be recognized.
