Makayla Wardlaw had five kills and
Jeda Curry supplied four, as Alcorn State Volleyball was tripped up away to Georgia Southern, 3-0, at Hanner Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon during the
Bash In The Boro event hosted by Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Georgia.

The host Eagles took the match on straight-set scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-11.

Alcorn State (0-2) was doomed by errors in the match, as the Braves committed 27 overall in the three-set affair.

Georgia Southern (1-1) was supplied eight kills from Robin Rosser, in addition to seven kills from Emily Jarome, in order to collect their first win of the young season. The Eagles fell to Stetson on Friday night during the season-opener for both schools.

In all, the Eagles had all seven players that registered kills hit .300-or-better in the match, including Jarome at a .357 clip with her seven kills on 14 swings.

For the Purple and Gold, Curry led all players with a .167 hitting mark while also providing a block at the net. Wardlaw led all Braves performers with seven digs. And it was
Demya Tate charging the team with two blocks.

Alcorn closes out the
Bash In The Boro event later Saturday afternoon when the Braves face Stetson at 2 p.m. CT.
