Jenna Wallace and the Alcorn State University Lady Braves soccer team moved closer to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) women's soccer tournament with their Sunday afternoon win over Alabama A&M University, 2-1. The team also celebrated seniors

Mikayla Duncan,
Jailyn Ward, and Charlie, Bal in their last home game of the season.
With the win, Alcorn moves to 5-10, overall, and 3-5, SWAC while the Lady Bulldogs drop to 1-14 and 1-5 in league play.
The first goal of the game came during a penalty kick from ASU's
Jaidyn Matheu at the 43rd minute, 1-0. Alabama A&M's lone goal was scored at the 53rd minute as Jasmine Perez-Acosta gave a pass to Isabelle Bernier for the goal, 1-1. The game was won for the Lady Braves as
Ha'Teya Holloman scored in the 89th minute, 2-1.
Paula Argelaguet was in the goal for Alcorn and picked up the win with five saves. AAMU's Madalynn Tanksley suffered the loss with five saves and two goals allowed.
The Lady Braves combined for nine shots to Alabama A&M's 14. The Lady Bulldogs' Isabelle Bernier, Daniela Marroquin, and Jasmine Perez-Acosta received yellow cards.
Alcorn will close out the regular season on Friday, Oct. 27 as the team travels to Itta Bena, Miss. to face Mississippi Valley State University. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
