East Lansing, Mich. – The Alcorn State Braves traveled to Michigan State University for a Sunday match-up. The Braves played a great game but were defeated by the Spartans, 49-81. With the loss, ASU moves to 1-4 on the season.
    Alcorn was led by
Jeremiah Gambrell with 12 points and two rebounds. He was followed by
Jeremiah Kendall with 11 points, a team-high eight rebounds, and a block.
Byron Joshua kept the offense moving with five assists while
Dekedran Thorn snapped up two steals.
Roderick Jones hit the boards and came down with five rebounds on the night.
    As a team, Alcorn State finished the game going 16-of-61 from the field and 12-of-20 from the line.
    Michigan State was led by Tre Holloman with 17 points and five assists. He was followed by Jadan Akins with 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists. A.J. Hogged accounted for 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Coen Carr rounded out the Spartans top scorers with 11 points, three rebounds, an assist, a block, and a steal.
    MSU ended the night going 30-of-57 from the field and 11-of-21 from the stripe.
    The Braves continue to be road warriors as they travel to face Texas Christian University on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
