FORT WORTH, Texas – The Alcorn State University men's basketball team hit the road against Big 12 opponent, Texas Christian University on Tuesday night. The Braves gave it their all but were defeated by TCU, 74-93.
Byron Joshua had the hot hand for Alcorn and scored 20 points while racking up four assists, two rebounds, and two steals. He was followed by
Jeremiah Kendall who finished with 17 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one block before fouling out.
Dekedran Thorn ended the game with 11 points and six rebounds.
Jeremiah Gambrell contributed 10 points and four assists.
Collectively, the Braves finished the game going 42.9 percent from the field, 60.9 percent from the stripe with 37 rebounds.
Texas Christian was led by JaKobe Coles with 20 points, four rebounds, three steals, and one block. He was followed by Emanuel Miller with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal. Micah Peavy ended the game with 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Esam Mostafa contributed 10 points and five rebounds.
As a team, the Horned Frogs went 47.4 percent from the field, 82.1 percent from the line with 37 rebounds.
ASU will continue their Texas road trip on Wednesday as they travel to Arlington to face the University of Texas-Arlington. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
