Lady Braves Set to Take on Nicholls State

LORMAN, Miss. --  Alcorn State University women's basketball (0-4) will face off against Nicholls State University tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 30) night at 6 p.m. in the Davey L. Whitney Complex.
 
The Lady Braves look to bounce back from a 41-93 loss to Big 12 Conference opponent, Baylor University in their last outing. In that contest, Alcorn was led by Nakia Cheatham with 13 points and Zy'Nyia White with 10. The guard tandem has shined in non-conference action and will need to do so again for ASU to score a win. Cheatham has been a key player as she leads the team in scoring with 9.3 points and six rebounds per game. Tyginae Wright has been the initiator for the Lady Braves offense as she leads the team in assists with four per game.
 
The Colonels (5-3) come in the contest hot off a 68-36 win over Dillard University. In that match up, NSU was led by Deonna Brister with 12 points and five rebounds as well as Kyla Hamilton with 11 points and four rebounds. Against Dillard, Betzalys Delgado pulled down a team-high seven rebounds while Kate Manley secured two blocks. Overall, Nicholls is led by Delgado in rebounding and assists. She averages 5.9 boards and 4.5 assists per game.  Lexi Alexander leads the team in scoring with 11.6 point per game.
