COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Alcorn State University took a trip to the East Coast for a Tuesday match up with the University of Maryland. The Braves fought hard but fell to the Terps, 105-65.
    Alcorn was led by
Byron Joshua with 14 points, four rebounds, and two assists. He was followed by
Dekedran Thorn and
Stephen Byard with 13 points and 11 points, respectively.
Jeremiah Kendall finished the game with five rebounds and two blocks.
    As a team, ASU went 44.1 percent from the field, 50 percent from the line, and 28 points in the paint.
    Maryland had five scorers with double-digit point totals. The team was led by Julian Reese with 15 points and seven rebounds. He was followed by Jahmir Young with 13 points and a team-high seven assists. Jordan Geronimo, DeShawn Harris-Smith, and Jamie Kaiser, Jr. each accounted for 12 points each. Geronimo also tallied two blocks.
    The Terps went 52.6 percent from the field, 77.5 percent from line and scored 32 paint points.
    Alcorn State will hit the court again on Sunday, Dec. 17 as they take on the University of Northern Iowa.
