OXFORD, Miss. – Alcorn State University women's basketball closed out December on the road against the University of Mississippi on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Braves dropped the contest to Ole Miss, 37-76.
    Zy'Nyia White was the leader for Alcorn State with 13 points and four rebounds.
Nakia Cheatham scored 10 points and tallied a team-high seven rebounds.
Kiarra Henderson contributed three assists.
    Alcorn went 30.4 percent from the field and 50 percent from the free throw line.

    The Rebel were led by Madison Scott with 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists. She was followed by Kennedy Todd-Williams and Kharyssa Richardson with 10 points and four steals each. Mariyah Noel recorded four assists.
    Ole Miss went 51.1 percent from the field and 76.7 percent from the stripe.
Alcorn women's basketball will open Southwestern Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 6 at Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss. Tip off is set for noon at the Lee E. Williams Athletic and Assembly Center.
