LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State women's soccer is ready to kickoff the 2023 season under new leadership. First year head coach,
Jenna Wallace will lead the Braves, which finished with a 5-9-4 record on last season.
The Braves welcome back a host of returners including sophomores
Samara Nunn and
Briana Johnson. Nunn scored 15 points in her 15 starts on last season. Johnson returns to the reservation after competing with the Guatemala National team this summer.
The Braves kickoff the season with a home exhibition against Hinds Community College on Friday, Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. The 2023 season officially starts when the Braves play host to Delta State at Spinks-Casem stadium on Sunday, August 13 at 6 p.m.
Southwestern Athletic Conference play begins on Sept. 22 when the Braves travel to Jackson to face in-state rival Jackson State. The SWAC tournament will be held at Prairie View A&M starting Friday, November 2 – Sunday, November 5.
