LORMAN, Miss. – The Houston Astros and Major League Baseball will be hosting the 2024 "Cactus Jack" HBCU Classic on February 16-18 in Houston, Texas. The event will be held at Minute Maid Park and Alcorn State University will be going head-to-head with other Southwestern Athletic Conference schools such as Grambling State University, Jackson State University, Prairie View A&M University, Southern University, and Texas Southern University.
    The Classic, is an annual, round-robin collegiate baseball classic designed by the Astros Foundation and Astros Youth Academy to highlight Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their baseball programs.
    The Braves will compete in three games over the weekend. On Friday, Feb. 16, ASU and Southern will face off at 11 a.m. The second game will be on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. against Jackson State. Alcorn will close the weekend against Prairie View A&M University on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m.
