TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Coach
Nate Kilbert and the Alcorn State University women's basketball team traveled to Florida A&M University (4-13, 3-3 SWAC) for a Saturday afternoon game. The Lady Braves missed the mark and dropped the game to the Lady Rattlers, 56-60.
ASU (4-13, 2-4 SWAC) was led by
Destiny Brown as she scored 11 points and tallied seven rebounds, two assists, and one block. She was followed by Zy'Nyia White with 10 points.
Nakia Cheatham cleaned up under the boards with a team-high eight rebounds.
Tyginae Wright was the offensive initiator with five assists.
As a team, the Lady Braves went 45 percent from the field and 56.3 percent from the line. ASU outscored FAMU in the paint, 36-26, and the Lady Rattlers' bench, 20-16.
Ahriahna Grizzle led Florida A&M with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two blocks. Olivia Delancy put up 14 points and four rebounds.
FAMU went 37 percent from the field and 64 percent from the line.
