ITTA BENA, Miss. – Alcorn State University men's basketball team took on Mississippi Valley State University in the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex on Monday night. The Braves quickly put out the Delta Devil flames, 72-55.
    ASU (7-17, 6-5 SWAC) dominated MVSU in all aspects of the game. Alcorn scored 19 points from turnovers to Mississippi Valley's six. The Braves also outscored their opponents in the paint, 34-20, in second chance points, 13-6, and the bench, 19-4.

Jeremiah Kendall racked up 20 points, five rebounds, and two steals. He was followed by
Jeremiah Gambrell with 15 points, dished three assists, and pulled down two rebounds.
Dekedran Thorn contributed 11 points, five rebounds, and one assist.
Byron Joshua rounded out the top scorers with 10 points, a game-high seven assists, and five rebounds.
Djahi Binet hit the boards and came back with a team-high six rebounds.
    The team was 48.1 percent from the field and 60.9 percent from the line.
    The Delta Devils (0-24, 0-11 SWAC) was led by Rayquan Brown with 26 points, two rebounds, and one block. Danny Washington scored 12 points and recorded five assists and three rebounds.
    MVSU was 44.7 percent from the field and 62.5 percent from the line.
    Alcorn will be back in action at Davey L. Whitney Complex on Saturday, Feb. 17 as they take on Bethune-Cookman University. Tip off is set for 3 p.m.
