HOUSTON, Texas – Alcorn State University baseball faced Jackson State University in the second game of the Cactus Jack HBCU Classic hosted by Major League Baseball and the Houston Astros. The Braves fell to the Tigers, 5-11.
Alcorn finished the game with five runs on 12 hits while committing two errors.
Jermel Ford had two hits, one run, and two runs batted in.
Mason Duke and
Ben Martin had one hit and one RBI each.
JSU ended the day with 11 runs on 13 hits while committing two errors. Rodney Hibler, Jr. finished with two hits, three runs, and two batted in. Joseph Eichelberger had three hits, one run, and two RBI. Myles White finished the game with two hits, one run, and one run batted in. Davione Hull finished with one hit and two RBI while Robert Tate, Jr. had one hit, a run, and one batted in.
Isaiah Williams picked up the win for Jackson State with six innings pitched for five hits, three walks, 13 strikeouts, and faced 27 batters.
Guershon Exi suffered the loss for the Braves with four innings pitched for four hits, four runs, four walks, three strikeouts, and faced 22 batters.
