HOUSTON, Texas – Alcorn State University baseball closed play in the Cactus Jack HBCU Classic hosted by Major League Baseball and the Houston Astros against the Panthers of Prairie View A&M University. The Braves were defeated 14-15 by PVAMU.
Alcorn scored 14 runs on 15 hits while committing an error.
Kalum Banks, Jr. finished the game with two hits, a run, and three runs batted in.
Nathan Gamez had two hits, a run, and batted two in on a home run. Trey Adam had two runs and an RBI.
Jaylon Lucky ended the game with four hits, three runs, and a run batted in.
Gavin Caston had a hit and an RBI while
Chance Jackson had a run batted in.
The Panthers scored 15 runs on 12 hits while committing an error. Garrison Weiss finished the game with three hits, a run, and two batted in. Tyran Norris had three hits, a run, and two batted in. Michael Smith finished the day with two hits, three runs, and two RBI. Trenton Bush had two hits, three runs, and two batted in. Marshal Jones finished the game with two hits, three runs and a run batted in. Isaac Davila had a run and an RBI while Jayden Williams ended the day with an RBI.
Devin Aguado picked up the win for Prairie View with 2.2 innings pitched for a hit, a run, a strikeout, and faced nine batters.
Kiki Ford, Jr. suffered the loss for Alcorn with 1.2 innings pitched for four hits, three runs, a walk, two strikeouts, a wild pitch, and faced 10 batters.
