ITTA BENA, Miss. – Alcorn State University baseball traveled to face Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Miss. on Wednesday night. The Braves snatched a hard-fought victory over the Delta Devils, 7-5.
Alcorn scored seven runs on 12 hits while committing two errors.Â
Nathan Gamez went 1-of-4 and batted two in.
Dillon Crowell went 3-of-5 with two RBI.
Garrett Palladino went 2-of-3 at the plate, scored a run, and batted in a run. Kalum Bank, Jr. went 2-of-5, scored a run and batted a run in.
Jesse Burton, III went 3-of-5 at the plate and batted on in.
MVSU had five runs on seven hits while committing six errors. Maury Weaver went 2-of-4, scored a run, and batted four in on a home run. Jack Early went 1-of-3 at the plate, scored a run and batted one in on a home run as well.
The Braves will be back in action over the weekend at Smith-Wills Stadium in Jackson, Miss. as they face Southern University in a three-game series. First pitch between the teams is set Saturday, March 22 for 6 p.m.
