Box Score 3 LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State University softball hosted the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff at the Alcorn Softball Complex for a weekend series. The Lady Braves snapped up two victories with scores of 1-0 and 4-1. ASU dropped the last game with a score of 2-4.
Game One
Alcorn State scored a run on two hits while committing an error.
Genise Wells finished with an RBI while
Hannah Miller had a hit and a run.
Arkansas – Pine Bluff finished the game with four hits while committing two errors. Amari Broughton ended the game with three hits while Kaitlyn Neely had a hit.
Kiri Parker picked up the win for the Lady Braves with a complete game pitched for four hits, three walks, 11 strikeouts, and 31 batters faced.
Kayla Adams suffered the loss for the Lady Golden Lions with six innings pitched for two hits, one run, six strikeouts, and 21 batters faced.
Game Two
ASU scored four runs on five hits while committing an error. Wells had a hit, a run, and two batted in.
Olivia Miller finished with two hits and two RBI.
UAPB scored a run on four hits with no errors. Jada Carhee had and a hit and a run batted in. Ariana Gonzalez and Kayla Adams finished with a hit. Jasmine Carlson ended the game with one run.
Ta'Niyah Fletcher earned the win for Alcorn State with a complete game pitched for four hits, a run, six walks, six strikeouts, and 30 batters faced.
Danika Bryant suffered the lost for Arkansas – Pine Bluff with six innings pitched for five hits, four runs, three walks, nine strikeouts, and 26 batters faced.
Game Three
The Lady Braves scored two runs on three hits while committing two errors.
Kristian Edwards and
Paris Thompson finished with a run batted in.
The Lady Golden Lions scored four runs on seven hits while committing two errors. Samaria Jackson had a hit, a run, and two RBI. Ariana Gonzalez and Gabriella Belyeu ended the game with a hit and an RBI.
Heidi Price picked the win for UAPB with a complete game pitched for three hits, two runs (one earned), three walks, two strikeouts, and 29 batters faced.
Ashanti Carter suffered the loss for Alcorn with 3.1 innings pitched for five hits, three runs (two earned), three walks, two strikeouts, and 18 batters faced.
