LAKE CHARLES, La. – Alcorn State University Braves baseball traveled to Lake Charles, La. to face McNeese State University in a midweek series. ASU dropped the first game, 7-9, and 4-11 in the second game.
Game One
The Braves scored seven runs on nine hits while committing two errors.
Garrett Palladino finished the day with a hit and two RBI.
Dillon Crowell had three hits and three runs batted in.
McNeese finished with nine runs on five runs while committing two errors. Cooper Hext had a hit and a run batted in. Elliot Hebert had an RBI in two appearances at the plate. Chase Keeton finished with an RBI in three appearances. Grant Mangrum had two hits and two RBI.
Daelan Caraway picked up the win for the Cowboys with two innings pitched allowing two hits, two runs (one earned), two walks, and faced 10 batters. Brian Shadrick earned the save for McNeese facing four batters, one hit, one strikeout, and walked two.
Nico Garcia suffered the loss with two innings pitched allowing two hits, three runs, one strikeout, and one wild pitch.
Game Two
Alcorn scored four runs on 10 hits while committing two errors.
Trey Adams finished the game with a hit and an RBI. Crowell had two hits and a run batted in.
Jaylon Burrell ended the day with two hits, two runs, and an RBI.
The Cowboys finished the game with 11 runs on 14 hits while committing an error. Connor Westenburg had four hits, two runs and four runs batted in. Braden Duhon finished with three hits, two runs, and three RBI. Easton Dowell ended the game with a hit and a run batted in. Peyton LeJeune had a run and an RBI while Chase Keaton finished with a run batted in.
Brock Barthelemy snapped up the win for McNeese with 3.1 innings pitched for two hits, four strikeouts, and faced 13 batters.
Kewan Braziel suffered the loss for Alcorn with two innings pitched for six hits, six runs (five earned), a walk, two strikeouts, and faced 15 batters.
