HOUSTON, Texas – Head Coach Reggie Williams and the Alcorn State University baseball team traveled to face Lamar University in a mid-week match up as the season draws to a close. The Braves fought valiantly but were defeated by the Cardinals, 3-13.
    Alcorn scored three runs on six hits while committing no errors.
Trey Adams finished the day with three hits, a run, and a run batted in.
Nathan Gamez had two hits and one RBI.
    Lamar scored 13 runs on 11 hits while committing two errors. Drake Varnado finished the game with two hits, three runs and four batted in. River Orsak had two hits, a run, and three RBI. Weston Peninger and Brayden Evans finished with one hit, two runs, and batted two in.
    Carter Sutton picked up the win for the Cardinals with one inning pitched for a walk and three batters faced.

Hayden Konkler suffered the loss for ASU with an inning pitched for two hits, two runs, a walk and six batters faced.
