HOW IT HAPPENED
- UAB found the end zone twice after driving down the field to score and capitalizing off an Alcorn fumble in the opening quarter to take a quick 14-0 lead.
- Noah Kiani nailed a 29-yard field goal with 2:36 to go in the first to make the score 14-3.
- The Blazers scored two more touchdowns and field goal during both the second and third quarters to take a 28-3 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
- UAB closed the game with a field goal and a touchdown in the fourth quarter making the final 41-3.
OFFENSIVE NOTABLES
- Tyler Macon finished with 12 carries for 37 yards.
- Xzavier Vaughn finished the game for the Braves going 5-12-0 for 25 yards.
- Deablo McGee had the longest pass reception of the night for Alcorn with 31 yards.
DEFENSIVE NOTABLES
- Geoffrey McKelton was the defensive leader with nine total tackles and a tackle for loss.
- Edwards ended the game with seven tackles and a tackle for loss.
- Edwin Summerour and Markel McLaurin had real noses for the ball. Summerour forced a fumble while McLaurin had a fumble recovery and an interception.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTABLES
- Noah Kiani nails a 29-yard field goal to get Braves on the scoreboard in the first quarter with 2:36 left.
- Elijah Gorman had nine punts for 338 yards with an average of 37.6 yards per punt. Gorman's longest punt was 52 yards.
