LORMAN – Alcorn State women's basketball claimed a dramatic overtime victory, defeating Florida A&M 75-72 in a SWAC matchup on Saturday afternoon at the Davey L. Whitney Health & Physical Education Complex. The Lady Braves showcased resilience and clutch play to earn their second conference win of the season.
Destiny Brown delivered a standout performance, recording a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds while making crucial free throws in overtime. Kiarra Henderson led the team in scoring with 14 points, including a perfect 6-for-8 from the free-throw line. Zy'Nyia White added 12 points, and Sharmayne Finley provided a spark off the bench with 12 points on efficient shooting.
The Lady Braves overcame a fourth-quarter deficit and showed their composure in the extra period, holding off Florida A&M's strong push to secure the win.

First Half – Florida A&M 34, Alcorn 35
- Alcorn got off to a strong start, outscoring Florida A&M 16-12 in the first quarter, led by Henderson's six points in the paint.
