LORMAN – Alcorn State women's basketball secured an impressive 68-58 victory over Bethune-Cookman on Monday afternoon at the Davey L. Whitney Health & Physical Education Complex. The Lady Braves delivered a balanced performance, with key contributions on both ends of the floor, to notch their third SWAC win of the season.
Nakia Cheathman led the way with a game-high 19 points, including two three-pointers and a strong showing at the free-throw line, where she went 7-for-10.
Kiarra Henderson added 14 points and six rebounds, while
Destiny Brown showcased her all-around impact with eight points, six rebounds, seven assists, and five blocks. The Lady Braves' defensive intensity and efficient scoring proved pivotal throughout the game.

First Quarter – Alcorn 9, Bethune-Cookman 4
- The Lady Braves set the tone early, holding Bethune-Cookman to just one field goal in the opening quarter.
