JACKSON, Miss.- October 26, 2025 — The Alcorn State Lady Braves dropped a three-set match to Jackson State on Sunday afternoon at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center. The final scores were 18–25, 19–25, and 10–25.
Courtney Carter led the way for Alcorn with nine kills, seven digs, and one assist. Setter Juliana Henao added 14 assists, one ace, and one dig. Kayla Jones made an impact at the net with four block assists, while Jessika Martinez and Cristin Webb each contributed two kills.
As a team, the Lady Braves finished with 21 kills, 19 errors, and a .028 hitting percentage. Alcorn showed fight early in the match but couldn't keep pace with Jackson State's consistent attack in the final set.
The Lady Braves, now 2–20 overall and 1–8 in SWAC play, will look to regroup as they continue conference action tomorrow against Mississippi Valley State College.
