Lorman, Miss. – Alcorn State Softball has unveiled its 2026 slate, featuring an early stretch of tournament action before a full Southwestern Athletic Conference lineup and a balanced mix of home and road games. The Braves will open the season with three consecutive weekends of neutral-site competition ahead of their home debut at the end of February.
Alcorn begins play February 6–8 in Jackson at the River City Classic, taking on Arlington Baptist, Alabama A&M, Jackson State, and Dallas Christian. One week later, the Braves head to Covington, Georgia, for five matchups at the HBCU Invitational, facing North Carolina Central, Maryland Eastern Shore, Coppin State, Bowie State, and Howard. The road continues February 20–22 with the Alabama State Tournament in Montgomery, where Alcorn will see Mississippi Valley State, Alabama State, Jackson State, and Tuskegee before concluding the weekend with another contest against MVSU.
The Braves return home on February 27 for their first games on The Reservation, hosting a doubleheader against Xavier University of Louisiana.
March opens with a trip to Southern Miss on March 3, followed by a weekend series at Arkansas–Pine Bluff on March 6–7 to begin conference play. The Braves then visit Louisiana Tech on March 10 before turning their attention back to SWAC play, hosting Prairie View A&M for a three-game series March 13–14.
Later in the month, Alcorn welcomes Mississippi Valley State on March 24 before returning to the road at Nicholls State on March 17, Texas Southern on March 20–21, Southern University on March 27–28, and ULM on March 31.
The Braves will settle in at home for much of April, beginning with a home series against Grambling State April 3–4 and a single game against Jackson State on April 7. Texas Southern visits Lorman April 10–11 before the team steps back out of league play for a road contest at Memphis on April 14. Alcorn rounds out its conference schedule with a road series at Prairie View A&M April 17–18 and returns home April 24–25 to host Arkansas–Pine Bluff for Senior Day.
The SWAC Tournament is set for May 5–9 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
