LORMAN, Miss. — Alcorn State Athletics posted another outstanding semester of academic achievement during the Fall 2025 term, continuing a strong tradition of excellence in the classroom.
The department recorded a 3.40 overall term grade point average and a 3.34 cumulative GPA, marking yet another semester in which Alcorn State student-athletes achieved a department-wide term GPA above 3.0. A total of 284 student-athletes were enrolled during the fall semester, with 161 earning a term GPA of 3.0 or higher and 177 holding a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Fourteen of the department's 15 sports posted a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, reflecting consistent academic performance across nearly every program. Additionally, 49 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 term GPA, while 15 currently maintain a flawless 4.0 cumulative GPA.
Academic excellence was highlighted by several standout programs across the department.
Women's Tennis and Women's Cross Country both achieved a 100 percent cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher among their student-athletes.
Softball posted a 95 percent cumulative GPA rate of 3.0 or better, while Women's Basketball followed closely at 93 percent. Men's Tennis also delivered strong results, continuing the department's tradition of academic accountability.
These results underscore the continued collaboration and shared commitment of Alcorn State's coaches, academic support staff, administrators, and student-athletes. Through disciplined preparation, accountability, and pride in the classroom, Braves student-athletes continue to honor the University's academic standards while competing at a high level.
