PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Alcorn State baseball fell in both games of a Sunday doubleheader against Prairie View A&M at Tankersley Field, dropping the opener 6-3 and the second contest 13-7. The Braves (6-36, 1-22 SWAC) showed offensive flashes across both games, collecting a combined 21 hits, but couldn't overcome the Panthers' timely power hitting and early run production.
Game 1 – Prairie View A&M 6, Alcorn State 3
Prairie View jumped ahead early with two runs in the first and never trailed, adding three more in the sixth to create distance. Alcorn responded late with a pair of runs in the seventh and one in the eighth, but the rally came up short.
