PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Alcorn State baseball wrapped up its SWAC road series with a high-scoring contest on Monday afternoon but ultimately fell 20-6 to Prairie View A&M at Tankersley Field. The Braves (6-37, 1-23 SWAC) recorded nine hits and scored in three separate innings but could not overcome the Panthers' 19-hit, 20-run onslaught.
Jermel Ford and
Kanious Davis led the Braves offensively, each collecting multiple extra-base hits, while
Samuel Leonard added a two-RBI single in a four-run third inning. However, Prairie View strung together big innings in the first, fourth, and sixth frames to take control of the game.

Early Action – Prairie View Strikes First
- The Panthers opened the game with three runs in the first, followed by two more in the second, including a two-run homer by Landon Williams to make it 5-0.
- Alcorn got on the board in the third, loading the bases and cashing in on a two-run single by Leonard. Gamez and Caston also drove in runs in the frame, trimming the deficit to 5-4.
Momentum Swings
- Prairie View responded immediately with a five-run fourth inning, fueled by a pair of doubles and a fielder's choice.
- Alcorn added a fifth run in the fifth on an RBI groundout by Gavin Caston, scoring Davis who had singled and stolen two bases during the inning.

- The Panthers broke the game open in the sixth with nine runs, including a three-run homer by Ahmar Donatto and a grand slam by Michael Burroughs.
