2025 Football Game Themes and Fan Colors Announced

LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State University is excited to announce the official themes for the upcoming 2025 football season. Each game will be an opportunity to celebrate not only the thrilling action on the field, but also the spirit and unity of the Alcorn State community. With a series of compelling events lined up, this year's football season promises to be one to remember.
 
The Braves open the season on the road with games against Northwestern State, Alabama A&M, Mississippi State and the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, before returning to Lorman for the home opener against Prairie View A&M on Oct. 4 at 3:00 p.m.

Oct. 4 vs. Prairie View A&M – High School Day (Purple) – 3:00 p.m.
The season kicks off with High School Day on October 4 when the Braves face Prairie View A&M University. High School students from around the region are invited to join in the excitement and experience the atmosphere of a college football game. This event offers an opportunity to encourage academic achievement, community engagement, and highlight the pathway from high school to college.
 
Oct. 11 vs. Lincoln (CA) – Homecoming (Purple & Gold) - 2:00 p.m.
Homecoming is always a highly anticipated tradition at Alcorn State University, and the 2025 edition promises to be no different. On October 11, Alcorn will host Lincoln University in a celebration of alumni, students, and the rich history of the university. Homecoming is a time to honor past and present members of the Alcorn family, with events and festivities that extend beyond the game itself.
 
Oct. 25 vs. Mississippi Valley State – Breast Cancer/Domestic Violence Awareness (Pink & Purple) – 2:00 p.m.
On October 25, Alcorn will host Mississippi Valley State University in a game dedicated to raising awareness for two critical causes: Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence. The game will focus on education, prevention, and support, bringing attention to these important issues that affect countless lives. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in solidarity for Breast Cancer Awareness and to support domestic violence victims, showing Alcorn's commitment to creating positive change in the community.
 
Nov. 8 vs. Southern University – Military Day (Camouflage) - 3:00 p.m.
The Braves play host to Southern University for Military Day. This game will honor the men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Alcorn State University has long been committed to supporting military veterans, and Military Day will be a heartfelt tribute to their sacrifice and service. Special ceremonies and tributes will take place throughout the day, with the entire stadium united in showing respect for our military personnel.
 
Nov. 15 vs. Grambling State – Senior Day (Gold) - 2:00 p.m.
The 2025 football season will conclude with Senior Day on November 15, as Alcorn faces off against Grambling State University. Senior Day is a special occasion that honors the student-athletes who are concluding their collegiate careers. Fans will have the chance to recognize the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of Alcorn's seniors as they take their final steps on the field, celebrating their contributions both on and off the gridiron.
