VICKSBURG, Miss. – Alcorn State women's soccer erupted for 10 goals in a dominant 10-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday afternoon at Key City Park.
Elive Larissa Joso Luma powered the Lady Braves (2-4-3, 1-0-1 SWAC) with a hat trick, scoring in the 22nd, 46th and 48th minutes. Iesha Rollins added three goals of her own, finding the net in the 30th, 76th and 80th minutes while also assisting on Annick Zouma's 66th-minute strike. Zouma finished with two goals, tacking on another in the 86th minute.
Ainara Aldeano scored in the 59th minute and Natalie Penniston-John chipped in a goal and an assist, scoring in the 71st minute and setting up Rollins' second tally.
The Lady Braves overwhelmed the Lady Lions (1-6-1, 0-1-0) with a 10-0 shot advantage and held the visitors without a single shot or corner kick. Alcorn goalkeeper Bame Mokime earned the shutout without needing a save.
Alcorn grabbed a 2-0 halftime lead and then exploded for eight second-half goals to secure its first conference win of the season. The Lady Braves will look to carry the momentum into their next match as SWAC play continues.
