LORMAN, Miss. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has recognized two members of the Alcorn State University women's soccer program for their standout performances, announcing
Larissa Joso Luma Elive as SWAC Offensive Player of the Week and
Grace Ambrose as SWAC Newcomer of the Week.
Luma Elive was named SWAC Offensive Player of the Week after her impact on both ends of the attack. Elive scored two goals in the win over Nicholls and later provided an assist against McNeese, setting up the team's second goal of the match. Her ability to create and finish opportunities proved vital for the Lady Braves.
Ambrose was honored as SWAC Newcomer of the Week following a breakout performance. The freshman registered an assist against Nicholls before scoring twice against McNeese, displaying her scoring touch and quick adaptation to the collegiate level.
These honors highlight the continued growth of the program and the rising contributions of both veteran and new players early in the season.
The Lady Braves return to action on Friday, September 5, when they travel to face Jacksonville State. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
