Lorman, Miss. - Alcorn State Athletics continues a busy January stretch with a full slate of Southwestern Athletic Conference action and a key indoor track meet on the road, as the Braves and Lady Braves compete across four days this week.
Men's basketball opens with a matchup against Alabama State on Monday, January 12 to complete the Alabama swing. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. in Montgomery, as Alcorn looks to build momentum in conference play and continue establishing its identity early in the SWAC season.
The Lady Braves return to the friendly confines of the Davey L. Whitney Complex on Thursday, January 15, hosting Prairie View A&M. Scheduled for a 6 p.m. tip, the matchup marks another important league contest as Alcorn continues to defend its home floor and strengthen its position in the conference standings.
On the track, Alcorn State's men's and women's programs head to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Invitational, held Friday and Saturday, January 16–17. The meet provides a strong early-season test against regional and national competition, as the Braves and Lady Braves look to post season-best marks and gain valuable experience heading deeper into the indoor campaign.
The week concludes back in Lorman on Saturday, January 17, with a full SWAC basketball doubleheader against Texas Southern. The Lady Braves and Braves will both be in action at the HPER Complex, giving fans an opportunity to support both programs in a pivotal conference matchup as league play intensifies.
With conference positioning, home-court pride, and postseason preparation all in focus, Alcorn State Athletics enters the week with purpose and momentum across multiple fronts.
