OMAHA, Neb. – Alcorn Baseball freshmen
Devin Kriley and
Kayden Sutton have been recognized by D1Baseball.com as Impact Freshmen in their Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) season preview released this week.

Devin Kriley, a 5-foot-11 freshman left-handed pitcher from Goodyear, Arizona, played his prep baseball at Estrella Foothills High School, while seeing action for the Outlawz 18U as well.

As for
Kayden Sutton, the Hogansville, Georgia freshman stands 6-foot-2 as a right-handed pitcher that prepped at LaGrange High, where he played in a variety of areas in the infield, outfield, as well as on the mound. He played travel ball for 5 Star West 18U Black.

The top draft prospect for the Braves for the Class of 2026 is
Jacob Wingard, another right-hander for second-year head coach
Carlton Hardy.

As a team, Alcorn was predicted to finish 11th in the 12-team conference, one ahead of Alabama A&M.

The Alcorn season gets underway February 13-15, when the Braves participate in the HBCU Power Series, taking on Grambling State (Feb. 13), Prairie View A&M (Feb. 14) and Jackson State (Feb. 15). The MLB HBCU Power Series will feature three days of games from Friday, February 13, running through Sunday, February 15, with three game time slots per day. All games will be nine innings with a 10-run rule, creating a true collegiate showcase environment that balances competition with fan experience.
