LORMAN, Miss. — Alcorn State Braves head coach Carlton Hardy and the Alcorn State Athletics have announced the Braves' 2026 baseball schedule, a well-rounded slate that blends tradition, challenging non conference matchups and a full Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) lineup.
Alcorn State opens the 2026 season at the HBCU Civil Rights Classic, scheduled for Feb. 13–15 in Jackson, Mississippi. The three-day event will feature neutral-site contests against Grambling State, Prairie View A&M and Jackson State. The opening weekend not only provides early-season tests against familiar rivals but also continues a meaningful tradition that honors the legacy and history of HBCU baseball.
Following the season-opening classic, the Braves face a demanding non conference stretch that includes road games against Mississippi State, Houston Christian and Mercer. Additional midweek contests and neutral-site matchups throughout February and early March are designed to prepare Alcorn State for the rigors of conference play.
SWAC competition officially begins on March 13, when the Braves travel to Huntsville, Alabama, for a three-game series at Alabama A&M. The opening conference series marks the start of a balanced league schedule as Alcorn State competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference race.
The 2026 conference slate features several key home series in Lorman, including matchups against Bethune-Cookman, Mississippi Valley State, Southern, Grambling State, Prairie View A&M and Alabama State. The Braves will also be tested on the road with conference trips to Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Texas Southern and Jackson State, among others, as they work toward a strong finish in the SWAC standings.
The regular season concludes in mid-May with a home series against Alabama State, highlighted by Senior Day during the final game of the regular season. Alcorn State will then shift its focus to postseason play at the SWAC Tournament, scheduled for May 20–24 in Birmingham, Alabama.
