BATON ROUGE, La. – Personal-best times and season-best marks were set over the weekend as Alcorn Track & Field participated in the Alumni Gold event on Saturday, April 25, hosted by LSU at Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
 
In the women's events, Izayla Harris laid down a new season-best time in the 100m as she crossed ninth in a time of 11.49 seconds. She would later return to produce the team's second-fastest mark in the 200m, pushing across the line in seventh with a time of 23.55 seconds, respectfully.
 
Also performing well in the 200m for the Braves women's squad was Sariah Magee with a 24.27 time, allowing her a top 20 performance in the event.
 
Sanaa Parker finished 12th in the 40m hurdles in a time of 1:00.97 – her second-fastest mark in the event for the 2026 outdoor campaign.
 
Meanwhile, the Braves 4x100 squad consisting of Brianna Wilson, Magee, Taliya Spurlock and Harris went fourth on the day with their second-fastest time of the year at 45.35 seconds. Kaylin White was also 11th in the long jump with a leap of 5.74m.
 
Over on the men's side of the event, Derrick Williams finished ninth in the 100m with a time of 10.41 seconds – his second-fastest mark of the outdoor campaign for the 100m. He returned in the 200m to establish a new season-fastest time of 20.68, allowing him to finish eighth overall for the race.
 
Trellas Forrest was 16th in the 400m as he established a new season-fastest time of 47.13 seconds. He also scored a 23rd place finish in the 200m with a 21.22-second mark – his second-fastest on the outdoor campaign for that race.
 
Next up for the Braves is the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Outdoor Championships taking place May 10-12, at A.W. Mumford Stadium on the campus of Southern University in baton Rouge, Louisiana.
