Lorman, Miss- Lady Braves(0-11) hosted Grambling State Friday night to open up SWAC play.

The Lady Braves kept close with the Tigers but completed the three sets (15-25,25-27,23,25).

Junior Alexis Burton fished with a season high of 10 kills and a .238 hitting percentage. 

Set One: The Tigers built an early 5-1 lead before Alcorn chipped away behind kills from Rylan Jones, Tomoni Giddings, Courtney Carter and Cristin Webb.The Braves pulled within 17-14 following a kill from Webb,but Grambling responded with a late run to close out the first set.

Set Two:Lady Braves battled the Tigers to the very last point in set two.The Lady Braves came out strong with three straight points to pull within 3-2 before exchanging points with the Tigers throughout the frame. Alcorn later took an 18-17 lead and extended the advantage to 22-17.

Grambling rallied late to tie the set at 22-22. Alcorn answered with a Rylan Jones kill to make it 23-22 and reached set point at 24-22, but Grambling fought back to force a 24-24 tie. 

After Alcorn tied the set at 25-25 on an Alexis Burton kill, Grambling scored the final two points to secure the 27-25 victory.

Set Three:The Braves opened the set with a 4-2 advantage and later extended their lead to 7-5 behind kills from Jaylynn McNeill and Rylan Jones. Alcorn continued to control the pace, building an 11-8 lead and pushing ahead 16-13. 

Grambling responded with a run to tie the set at 17-17, but Alcorn regained the lead at 20-18 following a Daylin Saikiblock and attack error forced by Kelsey Burks and Jaylynn McNeill. 

The Tigers eventually pulled ahead 23-21. Alcorn cut the deficit to one at 24-23 following a Tomoni Giddings kill, but Grambling closed out the set, 25-23.
