Loreman, MS- Alcorn (0-5) faced Nicholls State University Friday night inside the  Davey L. Whitney Complex.

Set 1: Nicholls jumped out to an early lead, but the Braves stayed within striking distance throughout the set. Nicholls built a 20-14 advantage, but Alcorn responded on a 10-0 run to completely shift the momentum. The Braves would close out the set,25-21. 

Set 2: Alcorn struggled to find its rhythm early, falling behind 6-0 before getting on the scoreboard. The Braves responded with points from Rylan Jones and Tomoni Giddings, including a service ace to cut the deficit 6-4. The Colonels closed out the second set, 25-9.

Set 3: Alcorn Battled early but fell behind early 4-01 before responding with kills from   Courtney Carter, Alexis Burton, and Cristin Webb to stay within striking distance. 

Nicholls extended its lead to 12-3, but Alcorn answered with kills from Carter and Burton, along with an attack error from Nicholls, to bring the score to 15-5. Nicholls maintained its advantage and closed out the set 25-12.

Set 4: Alcorn came out strong, taking a 2-0 lead. The Braves continued to battle as Jaylynn McNeill and Cristin Webb added kills to keep the set close.

Nicholls responded with a 7-5 run to take control, but Alcorn stayed within reach. Webb recorded back-to-back kills, while Ma'kayla Coats and McNeill contributed offensively.

Alcorn continued to battle in the middle portion of the set, getting kills from McNeill, Carter, and Coats. The Braves trimmed the deficit to 17-13 before Nicholls pushed its advantage to 20-16.

The Braves made another push late, with kills from Courtney Carter, Jaylynn McNeill, and Tomoni Giddings helping Alcorn reach 20 points. Nicholls, however, closed out the set 25-20 to complete the four-set victory.
