Summary

Biography

Known as a lockdown defender, Javen Morrison led the Braves in interceptions for three consecutive years from 2016-18. He finished with 12 in his career.

As a freshman, he earned the starting job after recording three interceptions for 95 yards. Morrison notched six tackles and a pass breakup in the 2016 SWAC Championship game.

In 2017, Morrison registered three more interceptions for 59 yards and broke-up a team-high 13 passes and forced a fumble at Grambling State. It went along with his 40 tackles on the year.

In 2018, Morrison recorded four interceptions including one in the SWAC Championship. Morrison ran back his second career pick-six earlier this season against Grambling State. He earned a spot on the All-Conference First-Team.

In his final season in 2019, Morrison tallied a pair of interceptions. It went along with 35 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Morrison was part of a secondary that lead the nation in both interceptions (21) and turnovers gained (36).
