LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University men's and women's indoor track teams begin the 2023 season Friday at the LSU Purple Tiger Indoor Track Meet in Baton Rouge, La.
The meet begins at 1 a.m. at the Carl Maddox Fieldhouse, located on Nicholls Drive in Baton Rouge. A total of nine schools are expected to participate, including:
Louisiana – Lafayette
Louisiana – Monroe
McNeese State
University of New Orleans
Nicholls State
Southern University
Xavier University
Alcorn State University
Mississippi Valley State University

The Braves team are beginning their first season under interim head coach Brittany Cox. She is assisted by veteran distance coach Donald Bond. Alcorn women are coming off a second-place finish at the 2022 SWAC Indoor Championships and the ASU men placed eighth at the conference event.
