Kelvin Kipkemboi led the way for Alcorn State University as he took first place at the Nicholls State University Cross Country Invitational on Saturday morning. Kipkemboi finished the meet with a top time of 19:50.77. Texas A&M University – Texarkana's Charles Dorsett, II came in second place with a time of 20:33.86 while Alcorn's
Alocius Kipngetich rounded out the top three with a time of 20:53.46.
Overall, the Braves finished in fifth place with a team score of 101. TAMU-Texarkana took first place with a score of 46. The host, Nicholls State, came in second with a score of 53. Loyola University (New Orleans) finished third with a score of 73 while Southern University was fourth with a score of 85.
Two Alcorn runners finished in the top 40 as
Bethwel Limo with a time of 23:16.68 and
Terrell White with a time of 23:28.04.
Chemar McGhee finished the race with a time of 24:45.68 and Elijah Moncure came in with a time of 27:45.92.
