LORMAN, Miss. – Under the direction of new head coach
Ryan McKenzie, Alcorn Men's and Women's Cross Country announced the schedules for both programs on Thursday, July 30. Both schedules are the same for each program, as five meets are on the fixed schedule, adding two possible postseason meets in the end, as well.
Â
The Braves will hit the same three Mississippi courses that carried them through last season before heading to Tallahassee, Florida, for the annual Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championships.
Â
The season gets started September 4, at the Mississippi Christian Opener in Clinton. Alcorn heads back to Clinton twice more – for the Belhaven Invitational (Oct. 3) and the Watson Classic (Oct. 16), with a trip to Monroe, Louisiana, for the ULM Warhawk Invitational sandwiched in between on September 25, respectfully.
Â
The SWAC Championships are scheduled for October 27, once again taking place at Apalachee Regional Park, the same course that would host the NCAA South Regional on November 13, if the Braves advance. A trip to nationals would send Alcorn to Terre Haute, Indiana, for the NCAA Championships on November 21, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course.
