CLINTON, Miss. – The Alcorn State Braves cross country teams opened the 2026 season Friday afternoon at the Mississippi Christian Opener, hosted by Mississippi Christian University.
LADY BRAVES
The Lady Braves were led by sophomore Lanise Chilton, who finished 39th overall with a time of 22:22.21.
Sophomore Erin Barr followed in 44th at 22:54.98, while junior Jasmine Robertson placed 59th with a time of 24:42.20.
Freshman Malinda McCray finished 66th at 25:23.50, followed by sophomore Dshunti Stevens in 77th at 28:07.08. Freshman NaTodja Taylor rounded out the Lady Braves lineup, finishing 80th with a time of 30:22.21.
BRAVES
On the men's side, freshman Jordan Mosley paced Alcorn State, finishing 66th overall with a time of 18:44.25.
Sophomore Darrian Wells finished 68th at 18:55.80, followed by freshman Jalen Hardiman in 78th at 19:54.95.
Freshman Conner Allen crossed the finish line in 81st with a time of 20:05.22, while freshman Denoach Thompson finished 93rd at 22:01.01. Freshman Jor'Dyn Payne rounded out the Braves lineup in 95th at 23:56.78.

Alcorn State will return to action on Friday, September 25, at the ULM Warhawk Invitational in Monroe, Louisiana. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
