PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Sophomore forward
Samara Nunn scored Alcorn State University's lone goal on Sunday in their Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) weekend match up with Prairie View A&M University. The Lady Braves dropped the match to PVAMU, 1-2.
Prairie View (2-8, 2-2 SWAC) picked up the match's first goal at the 13th minute as Mya Sheridan scored off an assist by Kamara Bradley, 1-0. ASU (2-9, 0-4 SWAC) answered back in the 42nd minute as Nunn used an assist from
Jaidyn Matheu to tie the score at 1-1. The Lady Panthers scored the last goal of the game at the 51st minute with a goal from Dahjah Lewis, 1-2.
Senior
Paula Argelaguet was in the goal and suffered the loss for Alcorn with seven saves on the day. Medinat Lawal picked up the win for Prairie View with three saves. The Lady Braves had 10 shots compared to PVAMU's 17.
Alcorn will be back in action at home in Spinks-Casem Stadium on Friday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. against the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff.
