CLINTON, Miss. – The Alcorn State University Lady Braves cross country team finished eighth in the Watson Collegiate Cross Country Classic at Mississippi College on Friday morning. ASU's Stella Kiptui was the top runner for the team as she finished second overall with a time of 21:56.1. Mississippi College's Jazmine Hernandez took first place with a time of 21:33.7.
Teresa Gallegos finished in the top 20 in 16th place with a time of 23:53.9.
Joyce Kiptum ended the race with a time of 25:47.7 while Nicole Kells finished with a time of 26:46.7.
Samouya Nevers rounded out the Lady Braves with a time of 28:44.1.
The team closed the day out with a total time of 2:07:08.
