Lorman, Miss. – The Alcorn State men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships on Monday, October 27, at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
The women's 5K race will begin at 7:00 a.m. CST, followed by the men's 8K event at 8:00 a.m. CST. The championships will feature all 12 SWAC member institutions competing for both team and individual titles.
Under the direction of head coach
Alonzo Banks, the Braves and Lady Braves enter the meet with solid performances throughout the season, highlighted by personal bests and strong finishes across multiple invitationals. Alcorn State's
Silvia Jepkorir has led the way for the women's squad, consistently finishing among the top runners in her events, while
Bryan Alvarez has emerged as a top performer on the men's side with steady improvement throughout the campaign.
