LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State University men and women's cross-country teams will be competing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship on Oct. 23 at Apalachee Regional Park Tallahassee, Fla. The women's meet is set to begin at 8 a.m. (CST) while the men are set to begin at 9 a.m. (CST).
Stella Kiptui and
Kelvin Kipkemboi have set the pace for both teams this season. For the Lady Braves, Kiptui received top honors as she finished first at the Nicholls State University Invitational in the race with a time of 18:22.65. She also placed second overall in the Watson Collegiate Cross-Country Classic at Mississippi College with a time of 21:56.1.
For the Braves, Kipkemboi finished the Nicholls Invitational meet in first place with a time of 19:50.77. He also finished third overall in the Watson Collegiate Cross-Country Classic with a time of finished the meet with a top time of 19:50.77.
