TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Alcorn State University women's cross country finished out the season with a fifth-place finish with a team time of 1:44:54 (122 points) in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Oct. 23. Florida A&M University took first place with a team time of 1:43:14 (63 points). Alabama State University came in second place with a team time of 1:43:22 (72 points). Alabama A&M University pulled in third place with a team time of 1:45:27 (99 points) while the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff was in fourth place with a team time of 1:45:54 (110 points).
Alcorn's Stella Kiptui was the leader of the women's 5k run for the Lady Braves on the course as she took first place with a time of 18:23.1. Junior
Teresa Gallegos rounded out the top five with a time of 19:56.6.
Joyce Kiptum ended the race in the top 30 with a time of 21:23.6. Nicole Kells finished the morning with a time of 22:34.7 while
Samouya Nevers finished with a time of 22:36.9. Mckenzie Patterson finished the race with a time of 24:45.2.
