LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State University will be represented at next week's NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships East First Round as
Khiah Williams qualified in the women's long jump.
The East First Round is scheduled for May 24-27 and will be hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The qualifiers out of the region will advance to compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 7-10 in Austin, Texas.
Williams, a junior from Evans, Georgia, qualified for the championship event after setting a new personal record in the women's long jump with a distance of 6.27m at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. Williams enters the East First Round seeded 23
rd.
Competition for the long jump is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, May 25.
